BotaniGro, a subsidiary brand of PT. Pasifik Asia Niaga Indonesia commissioned me to design for their upcoming line of organic fertilizer and bio-compost products.
I have many goals for the project. I want the brand to be able to grow into many market segments, and I did so through this project by expanding BotaniGro's product line. Initially, BotaniGro's Media Tanaman Product only consists of one Product Variety; MetanPlus. I suggested the company consider product line expansion to create three different market segments for their Media Tanaman products. BotaniGro agreed with the idea of expanding their product line, as they also have plans to create multiple versions of their products.
I started to create three different aesthetics for MetanPlus' product packaging.
Starting with the three aesthetics, I expanded the design into three product categories:
1. MetanPlus: targeting general customer segmentation as a multipurpose product with lower product pricing.
2. MetanGold: targeting niche customer segmentation as a multipurpose product with more premium product pricing and more premium product composition.
3. MetanPro: targeting professional agricultural customer segmentation as the products within the MetanPro line are formulated for specific usage for different plants and agricultural products.
The three aesthetics were then expanded into these examples.
The expanded draft designs were then sent to the client for feedback, to see which aesthetic the client chose for their overall branding. The clients commented that they liked the typographic style of the third aesthetic, but preferred the overall design look of the second aesthetic. From that feedback, I combined the typography of the third design aesthetic into the overall design of the second proposed label design. I made changes in some of the typography, by making the lettering more rounded for MetanPlus and MetanGold to signify its niche within general consumer audiences, and a straight, bold look for MetanPro to signify its niche within professional agricultural usage.
More information was also added to the packaging, as well as distinction labels for the different types of Media Tanaman products that BotaniGro offers.
